Holiday Bucket List on the Cape and Islands

We can't believe that the holiday season is already right around the corner! We put together a bucket list of things to do on the Cape and Islands this holiday season. Let us know how many of these events you check off the list!

  • Lighting of the Lobster Pot Tree (Provincetown) - visit Lopes Square in Provincetown on Saturday, November 30th at 5:30 PM for the 20th Annual Lighting of the Lobster Pot Tree! Known in Provincetown as a tradition that officially rings in the holiday season. It was started in 2004 by artist Julian Popko, who wanted to design a holiday celebration that recognized the hard-working local lobstermen. The "tree" is made from real lobster traps and has become a beloved tradition!

  • Falmouth Holidays by the Sea (Falmouth) - stop by from Friday, December 6th through Sunday, December 8th to kick off the holidays in Falmouth! The weekend begins with singing carols, greeting Santa as he arrives by boat in Falmouth Harbor, running the Jingle Jog 5K & Kids Elf Run, and joining in on the caroling at the lighting of the Village Green (Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 PM). Sunday, December 8th at 12:00 PM, enjoy one of the best and biggest small-town Christmas parades in all of Southeast New England. While you're there, make sure you stop by The Gilded Oyster located at 155 Main Street to shop our Capeology jewelry line in person! Need a place to stay for a getaway weekend in December? Check out our friends over at Seatucket Cottage in East Falmouth, which is located just 10 minutes from downtown (3 bedrooms, sleeps up to 6)!

    • Pelham's Winter Market (Dennis Port) - Enjoy a festive shopping experience supporting local vendors and artisans hosted at Pelham House Resort on Saturday, December 14th from 11 AM - 4 PM! We are so excited to announce that we will be a local vendor at their first ever Winter Market! Stop by our table to shop our Capeology jewelry line in person. The event includes free admission, live music, cash bar, cozy winter fare!

    • Pelham House Resort (Dennis Port) - Mark your calendars for all of the upcoming festive fun at PHR! Brunch with Santa on the Rooftop on Sunday, December 8th and 15th, warm up your winter with a Caribbean Christmas on Saturday, December 7th, and grab a ticket to the 4th Annual Kris Kringle Crawl happening on Saturday, December 21st! Enjoy holiday cocktails at each festive stop throughout the oceanfront resort. The Crawl includes a selection of cocktails and festive snacks at each location, plus a full bar available for purchase at each stop! The first stop is Santa's Rooftop Workshop with red and green margaritas. The second stop is the Ski Lodge Lobby, where you can jam out to live music with Santa. The final stop is The Ballroom, where you can enjoy Holiday cookies from Pelham on the Rise Bakery and other festive cocktails. Plus, the fire pits will be lit all night long!

    • Gingerbread Lane and Artist Market at the Hyannis HyArts Artist Shanties (Hyannis) - stop by on Black Friday (Nov. 29th) or Small Business Saturday (Nov. 30th) and walk through the artist shanties decorated as gingerbread houses with candy decor. Located at the Harbor Overlook, the artist market offers free crafts, music, and fun for all ages!

    • Hyannis Village Holiday Stroll (Hyannis) - starting at 10 AM on Saturday, December 7th on Hyannis Main Street. Stop by for Main Street Activities & The Spectacle of the Tree, followed by Santa arriving on Main Street at 12 PM. Enjoy all of this, while the Love Local Fest Holiday Edition is happening on the Hyannis Village Green and Gingerbread Lane Artist Shanties are going on! End the day at 4:00 PM with the Hyannis Boat Parade located at Bismore Park. Food and adult beverages are for sale at the Holiday Stroll. During the stroll, make sure you stop in at Cape Cod Jewelers located at 366 Main Street to shop our Exclusive 14k Capeology Jewelry and Exclusive 14k Capeology Two-Toned Jewelry Collections. The Collections are made up of Cape Cod pieces, as well as, the newly added Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard pieces, all of which are only available at their store or on their website!

The weekend embodies the magic of the Holiday Season while supporting local businesses, featuring a visit from Santa Clause, Santa's Village Marketplace, live entertainment, craft shows, tours, and local specials.     • Tree Lighting at Cape Cod Winery (Falmouth) - kick off the holiday season with lots of cheer at the Annual Christmas Tree Lighting happening Thanksgiving weekend, Friday, November 29th, and Saturday, November 30th! If you are over 21 years old, purchase your ticket to enjoy an evening sitting tableside with tabletop fire pits and deck area heaters. Enjoy holiday tunes leading up to the lighting of Cape Cod Winery's very own 50-foot cedar tree! Mermaid Cafe Food Truck will be open with a specialty holiday menu. Festive specialty wine drinks along with their regular menu will be available all night long. Table and entrance fees will go directly to Tommy's Place. "A home away from home for kids fighting cancer" and a toy drive will be held for Falmouth Service Center and Toys for Tots. PS Make sure to check out our mermaid rings in the gift shop!

      • Chatham's Christmas by the Sea Stroll Weekend (Chatham) - join the holiday celebration happening on December 13th - 15th with Chatham's Christmas by the Sea Stroll Weekend! The weekend starts on Friday with the Light Parade from Carmine's Pizza to Kate Gould Park, followed by the Annual Tree Lighting with Santa at 6 PM! For the rest of the weekend shop local businesses for pop-up shops, sales, carolers, entertainment, and more!

      • Eastham Holiday Festival (Eastham) - join the holiday celebrations on Saturday, December 7th and visit Santa at the Gift Barn at 10 AM! Stop by the Elks Lodge to enjoy a visit with Santa, pony rides, holiday craft projects, face painting, and more. Be sure to ride the trolley that runs between the two events and bring an unwrapped toy to support the Elks Lodge Toy Drive for Lower Cape kids!

      • Mashpee Christmas Parade (Mashpee) - mark your calendars on Saturday, December 14th at 6:00 PM for Mashpee's Season of Illumination and 18th Annual Mashpee Chamber Christmas Parade. The Christmas-themed parade is filled with floats, a marching band, and boats all decked out in lights. You don't want to miss out on a Mashpee Holiday Tradition!

      • Christmas in Edgartown (Martha's Vineyard) - save the date for the 43rd annual Christmas in Edgartown, happening December 12th - 15th that spreads winter magic that can be found in everyone's favorite summertime town. Stroll past Edgartown storefront windows for the 6th Annual Window Decorating Contest, participate in the Teddies around Town Scavenger Hunt, take a tour of Edgartown on a horse-drawn carriage ride, enjoy Murdick's hot chocolate during the lighting of the lighthouse, and the Christmas in Edgartown Holiday Parade!       • Christmas in Harwich (Harwich) - there's no place like Harwich for the Holidays! Visit Harwich Friday, December 6th - Sunday, December 8th, and start the weekend off Friday at 5:30 PM with the Harwich Port Stroll and a special visit from Santa at 6:15 PM. The stroll includes the Doane Park tree lighting, caroling, Santa, window shopping, and is followed by the Trolley to Christmas Town for the rest of the weekend. Sunday at noon is the Harwich Holiday Parade. Don't forget to do some window shopping at Buoys On Main, located at 546 Main Street to shop our Cape Cod, Seashell, Mermaid, Sand Dollar, and Anchor jewelry collections in person!
