Best Ice Cream Places on Cape Cod

• Somerset Creamery (Cataumet and Somerset) - Family-owned and operated for almost eighty years, Somerset Creamery prides itself on rich, homemade ice cream made the old fashioned way. Founded by Victor and Mary Spanick in since 1937, the emphasis was always on quality natural ingredients and courteous service. To this day, ice cream and homemade waffle cones are made daily with the finest ingredients available using the same great recipes Vic used. In addition to homemade ice cream, waffle cones are baked fresh daily at all locations. When you want the very best, get Somerset Creamery ice cream.

• Four Seas Ice Cream (Centerville) - Four Seas Ice Cream has been one of Cape Cod's favorite Ice Cream shops since 1934. They are truly a Cape Cod summer staple! With new items weekly, and over 20 flavors of homemade ice cream, there is always something exciting to try for everyone! P.S. If you order a size medium you get a gone shaped scoop!

• Ben & Bill's (Falmouth, Oak Bluffs) - Ben & Bills is a summer staple. They are famous for their homemade ice cream made on premises, plus their never ending selection of handcrafted chocolate and candies. P.S. ask for a sample of lobster ice cream, or order a scoop if you are brave enough!

• Sundae School (Dennisport and Harwich Port) - Sundae School opened its doors on May 26, 1976, just looking for a way a school teacher (his wife) and their year old son could spend summers on the Cape. When they started, one of their main goals was to make a high quality ice cream by using a fresh mixture of milk, cream and sugar with a high butterfat content. Sundae School takes pride in serving their famous hot fudge sundaes topped with real whipped cream and a fresh Bing cherry (in season).

• Katie's Ice Cream (Hyannis) - Since 2002, Katie’s Homemade Ice Cream has taken their ice creams, baked goods and treats seriously. The philosophy that the shared love of ice cream can bring people together is what inspires them today. Their baked goods, and treats, are all baked in house in the early morning hours before they start making ice cream. Make sure to try their special flavor, Cape Cod Sand. This is a secret recipe that is a must try!

• Ice Cream Cafe (Orleans) - open everyday, Ice Cream Cafe is a must try! Ice Cream Cafe has endless homemade flavors, dairy free options, and soft serve. You can stop in their Orleans location on a summer day or night, or catch their ice cream truck at Nauset Beach - weather permitting! You can not go wrong with a delicious ice cream sandwiches made with Cottage Street Bakery cookies or one of their homemade flavors like red velvet, made with real chunks of red velvet cake mixed throughout!

• Sweet Izzy (Harwich) - Sweet Izzy is the first and only completely plant-based ice cream shop on Cape Cod! Everything they make is plant-based, dairy-free, soy-free, gluten-free and vegan but have figured out how to still make the yummiest plant-based ice cream! Sweet Izzy's is so much more than just ice cream, they are giving back that ice cream experience that so many have been missing, one scoop at a time!

• Smitty's (East Falmouth, Mashpee, East Orleans, Sandwich) - Smitty's Homemade Ice Cream has over 100 flavors to choose from! With this many flavors, you will have to stop in every day of the summer to try them all!

• Ice Cream Smuggler (Dennis) - Ice Cream Smuggler is famous for their sundae's, some even say it is the best ice cream sundae they have ever had!
